Tottenham New Stadium: Six Firms Shortlisted for £450m Scheme

Six companies have been shortlisted for the £450 million scheme that will deliver a new 11 hectare public space which will link Tottenham Hostpur’s new £600 million stadium with the revamped White Hart Lane station.

The companies battling it out to become the development partner for the 1,400 home High Road West scheme are: Taylor Wimpey UK, Stanhope, Linkcity (Bouygues), Lendlease, Countryside and Barratt Developments.

A final decision on the partner is set to be announced by the middle of next year.

The overall £1 billion regeneration scheme for the Tottenham area aims to bring 5,000 new jobs and 10,000 houses by 2025, with the High Road West development the latest phase of the project.

Haringey Council revealed last month the three shortlisted bidders to become the development partner for the council for its £2 billion regeneration scheme.

The firms shortlisted were: Pinnacle with Starwood Capital and Catalyst; Morgan Sindall with Affinity Sutton and Circle Housing; and Lendlease.

The building of the High Road West scheme will run in conjunction with the construction of Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium, which will be built by Mace.

Alan Strickland, Haringey Council Cabinet Member for Housing, Regeneration and Planning, commented: “This is a project which will transform Tottenham and bring more than 1,400 new homes and thousands of new jobs to the area.

“Developments like High Road West send a clear signal that Tottenham is London’s most dynamic and important regeneration area.”

Strickland added that the chosen partner for the project will share the council’s vision for a development which will bring significant benefits for Haringey residents and businesses for the next few generations.

Last month work began on the club’s new stadium, while White Hart Lane started being demolished ahead of the revamp.

The club will move into the new luxury 61,000 seater stadium on the site of their existing home, with work in the existing stands already under way.
